Week 6 Part A: Engaging Your Customers
The Businesses I liked on Facebook are:
OBEY Clothing - https://www.facebook.com/obeyclothing/
Stussy - https://www.facebook.com/stussy/
Brixton - https://www.facebook.com/brixton
HUF - https://www.facebook.com/hufworldwide/
Tilly's - https://www.facebook.com/Tillys
Zumiez - https://www.facebook.com/zumiez/
GQ - https://www.facebook.com/gq
I chose these businesses because they advertise or talk about clothing items that are similar to clothing items that my store would sell. The clothing I would make would be inspired by these pages. OBEY Clothing, Stussy, Brixton, and HUF sell clothing items that sell similar clothing to what I would sell. I also believe that my followers and customers would also follow or be customers of those brands as well. Tilly's and Zumiez are clothing stores that sell many clothing brands that are similar to mine. They also sell items like sunglasses, watches, and skateboards. I also believe that my followers would also like or be followers of those stores. I also think they could have some stuff that I could potentially share with my followers. GQ is a magazine that is about many things, including clothing styles. I think that they could have stuff that I could share on my page. Since they are a magazine I could try to get some PR through their editorial content.
OBEY Clothing, Stussy, Brixton, and HUF all have similar content on their pages. They post information about their clothing, pictures of models wearing their clothing, events that they are going to be having, and any other promotions. Zumiez reposts things that their Facebook pages for different Zumiez locations are posting. They are usually funny interesting, or about products they sell. They also post promotional posts on their Facebook page. Tilly's posts about items they sell, videos about products they sell, promotions for items, and promotions for their website. GQ posts about celebrities, movies, pop culture, and different styles of clothing. Most of their posts are their articles on their website.
OBEY Clothing, Stussy, Brixton, HUF, and GQ's post's all sound very professional and well written. Tilly's and Zumiez write in a less professional manner. They sound like real people when they write their posts, but their posts are still well written. They all use interesting and cool-looking pictures for their posts. GQ also often post their articles on their pages. From looking at these pages I learned a few things. One of the things I noticed was that posts that showcased multiple clothing items usually got more likes and reactions rather than a post that just had one item and talked about a lot of clothing coming soon. So, posts with more items got more engagement. I noticed that posts that were promoting things generally got fewer likes. They got more likes if they didn't look that promotional posts but still were. Posts that had content that was interesting and engaging content had more engagement than other posts. Almost all these pages didn't have a lot of engagement on their posts compared to the amount of likes and followers that they have. Stussy was the only exception. They have a lot more likes than any other page. The page with the least engagement compared to their size was GQ. Every other brand got didn't get much engagement, but they were still better compared to GQ.
