Week 11 Part A: Marketing with Twitter, TikTok, Google for Business, LinkedIn, and more

     TikTok is a social media platform that I believe can help my brand become more well-known. Their short videos are something that I think I could use to attract people's attention to my brand. TikTok has been crucial in helping many businesses reach the success that they have now, because of this, I looked into TikTok to find more useful information about it.

    TikTok is a great way to bring people to get to know your brand/company. According to TikTok themselves, they are #1 globally for ad equity and TikTok users are 1.5 times more likely to go out and buy something that they discovered on TikTok. In other words, showcasing products on TikTok/ advertising them will result in a more impactful campaign and will make it more likely for people to buy your product or service. Even if you don't want to pay for ads, this shows that people who promote their business through TikTok will have more people buying their products. Although at first, you might have more success if you pay for advertisements, if you spend time growing your page (which can be easier on TikTok compared to other social media apps/websites because of the reach you can get with TikTok) you can get good results for free.

    There are many tools available that help you have an easier time using TikTok and will help you market your business better. They can help make your life easier because you can use tools to perform tasks effortlessly. Some good tools were mentioned by Influencer Marketing Hub, some good ones are: Upfluence which can help you find influencers to help you market your business and Social Pilot which can help you schedule your posts, improve your engagement, analyze results, and manage your social media. In general, the many tools available can allow you to use TikTok to your advantage. They can help your business grow and help it continue growing.

    TikTok has many users. Their users also spend a lot of time using TikTok during their day. According to Social Pilot, TikTok has over 1 billion users worldwide. They also said that 90% percent of TikTok users open the TikTok app multiple times a day and TikTok gets over 100 billion monthly views on average. This means that utilizing TikTok can allow you to reach out to the many people who use TikTok. Since the videos are short, it is likely that at least some people will see your video during the time they spend on the app. Since there are many people on TikTok, you will be able to have a community with many people which can help you connect to your audience more and will allow you to hear more about what your fanbase wants.

    According to Social Pilot, 45% of TikTok's users are between 18-24. If your business targets people between that age range like my business, TikTok can be very useful to target your target audience. There are different social media sites that are used more by certain people (for example, LinkedIn is used more by professionals rather than younger people). This means that TikTok can be useful for creating your business and finding young people with different interests that may be interested in what your business offers. Although the majority of TikTok's users are within that age range, there are many different age groups within TikTok's large user base. This means it wouldn't be a bad idea to use TikTok for different age groups as well.

    Everything I have talked about here has been positive and about things you can use to your advantage, however, there are bad things about using TikTok. You can use these bad things about TikTok to help you make good decisions on how to use TikTok to your advantage. Some bad things about TikTok include: limitations on your posts and TikTok isn't very budget-friendly. According to Sarah Strobel from EMPro, TikTok doesn't let you post only text or pictures. I know that you can easily opt for other social media that allow many different types of posts such as Instagram, Facebook, and even YouTube if you decide to create posts other than what TikTok has to offer. Strobel also says that TikTok's ads start at $10 cost per impression, while Facebook's cost per impression can be as low as 70 cents. To me, this makes it clear that it is more expensive to pay for advertisements from TikTok, and businesses that don't have much money for ads should be more careful while spending money for ads. Although paying for ads can't always be done, many businesses can take advantage of TikTok because it is a great way to quickly get customers and get a good amount of engagement from using TikTok to their advantage.

  1. Hey, I like the idea of you using Tiktok to market yourself since I see alot of different clothing brands on there all the time. Although, I do as well appreciate you including the fact that of all the sites, it is a bit on the pricier range. Besides that, it is a really good idea with alot of potential, especially when it comes to trendy and cool clothes.

  2. I saw that TikTok was expensive to advertise on too! At first, I thought it was far too much and not budget friendly, but I too saw that they have over a billion users globally. It put into perspective that even if you narrow down your target audience to say 100,000 people it costs less than 1 cent to advertise to each person. To be fair, i'm not sure how many users Facebook has, so Facebook really might be the better outlet. I think it depends on your target market. Like you said, it might make sense to start with advertisements on TikTok just to gain some attention and then ween off when you start to gain some ground. You could also start with just trying to post content daily and if it isn't getting the attention you want you could start doing advertisements. I've also noticed that some accounts are able to post pictures on TikTok, but they've been a series of photos set to a song, so I'm unsure how much that helps your business. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hey, TikTok is the best way to market yourself at the moment so I totally agree with you. Really cool to see the statistics behind TikTok and it's users as well! I think Linkedin would be a great fit for your business as well. My mentality is that the more social media accounts that you have, the better. Might as well try and get as much publicity from many different sources as possible. Best of luck to you!

  4. I still think instagram is the best advertising tool but I know a lot of people are on tik tok. I was listening to a podcast and they said tik tok is one of the most used apps within the youth. I personally don't use tik tok but I know it is a powerful tool.
