Week 9 Part A: Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts, & Webinars
Adding human interest or a personal touch to a post can help your posts because it won't sound as much like they are just reading a random website or listening to a random video. It will add a human touch that people like. People might be able to relate to it more and feel that they can trust the website more. It would also make sense if whenever you used a strategy to try to convert a reader or listener into a customer, people would trust you more and want to actually buy your product or service because you added some humor or experience that made you sound more credible or trustworthy and less scammy.
It makes sense to add a personal touch to a post most of the time. It especially makes sense whenever people are trying to give information or you are trying to convince people of something. It will give a lot of credibility and will prove a point, especially if you give a real-life example or set a certain mood to your post. It really only wouldn't make sense whenever it is something very serious and meant to be 100% professional or the post is strictly meant to only give information without any sort of bias or personal take or advice. Giving a mood such as sad or friendly might give a mood not intended to be in the post.
Having posts for things such as blogs, vlogs, podcasts, or, webinars would work for my clothing brand to share fashion tips and talk about the industry. Adding a personal touch or personal interest by shareing personal experiences, setting a friendly or understanding mood or having jokes can help me sound more experienced and trustworthy because if I give personal experiences people will connect to those experiences and will also understand that I have experiences that have made me a more experienced person in a topic. Having jokes can help people have an easier time reading or listening to my posts because it will be more enjoyable and relatable. Having a certain mood could also help my business because it could make the post have the impact it is supposed to have.
Having blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and webinars can also businesses because they will be able to reach out to other people by giving helpful information to potential customers. Many businesses use the adding a personal touch or human interest strategies by having posts that have information and adding a certain mood that is associated with their image or adding jokes that would make sense for the business to say. Businesses also use this strategy to portray a certain image by using ads or interacting with people online and using the same technique. It strengthens the image that these brands want and can bring more customers who like what that business represents and people who want to associate with that image as well.
Some businesses that can't use human interest or a personal touch with their businesses could be businesses that are suppliers rather than businesses that sell to people directly. These businesses don't really rely on many people buying their product, but instead need to get the attention of business owners and there might be other ways to reach out to these people in better ways. Larger business owners might also prioritize a serious person who they know can get a job done. Another example could be people like lawyers who need to stay very serious so people know that they will stay very professional.
That's a very good point! Business to business might not need to rely on the everyday person to buy their product, so personal stories may not be necessary. But perhaps they could still help a business stand out. Like here's how we worked with another business super effectively and built a great relationship. Good luck with your clothing brand! DeleteGreat point in mentioning the credibility of the personal touch! Businesses do seem much more credible if they share a personal experience of success or have an understanding tone. I also like your mentioning of suppliers not typically adding a personal touch. I couldn't think of any businesses but that was a good one because they don't really need a human connection in that situation.
ReplyDeleteI never thought how some businesses might not need to add personal touch, like suppliers! This is where professionalism over powers personal touch.
